UBER LAUNCHES MEDICINES DELIVERY SERVICE IN SOUTH AFRICA
Just recently, Uber Eats’ South African Unit expanded its delivery offerings, launching an app-based over-the-counter medicines service as it desires to increase market share in the rapidly-expanding shopping center in Africa’s most industrialized economy.
Uber Eats, a unit of U.S. ride-hailing service Uber Technologies, already has a gargantuan share of the country’s $600 million food dispatching market.
Moreover, Uber Eats has leaned towards implementing the “marketplace” strategy — combining ride-hailing and grocery deliveries and other services on a single mobile phone app that already has over 2 million users in the country, the business conveyed in a statement.
Its latest onrush into the delivery sector is in partnership with local health group Medicare, which allows its app users to purchase over the counter medication, operating in more than 50 clinics and pharmacies across the nation.
“The nationwide lockdown and restriction in movement created an immediate need to accelerate our business in increasing the accessibility to daily essentials,” general manager of Uber Eats South Africa Shane Austin told Reuters.
“Which is part of the reason our focus has been towards on-boarding various other merchants onto the app, aside from just restaurants.”
According to the recent Digital Market Outlook, information portal Statista predicted South Africa’s market of e-commerce would experience an annual compound growth of 11% up to 2024, with the number of online shoppers growing from 25 million currently to nearly 37 million.
Shalom, brothers and sisters around the world… blessings and Happy New Year to you all! I welcome all of you on this page, and I thank you immensely for reading my posts and supporting this powerful ministry that is continuing to wildly spread and catch fire across the globe. You all are absolutely incredible.
As we delve into the topic for this week, I decided to write about the world-renowned delivery service, Uber Eats, a company that many of you are probably very familiar with. I did so in order for us to observe from them ways we can transform our own lives, that are expressed vividly in scripture. We all know what Uber eats is widely known for… its food delivery services. Yet who would have thought that such a company originally and solely associated with food would expand it’s array of services to intelligently adapt to the current pandemic climate.
Now, even though Uber Eats is just an ordinary worldly enterprise, I believe something powerful can be learned from them. The Bible says in Rom 8:28 (KJV), “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” Just like Uber Eats is managing to adapt and thrive in the midst of a global economic crisis, we as Christians can do the same, in fact even more so, in seasons both lovely and troublesome. Since we as his children are born again in the spitting image of the Almighty God, failure and lack are very foreign to our nature. Because of Jesus Christ, success and abundance are in our DNA!
Ps 1:3 vividly describes a person who is rooted in God, saying “he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Even in troublesome “winter seasons”, the tree described in this scripture is healthy and productive, able to bear fruit every time in due season. Just like this tree, we can do the same. It does not matter what season we may find ourselves in. Even in the midst of this Covid-19 pandemic season, through the power of Jesus Christ that lives on the inside of us, we can most definitely bear plentiful fruit.
In accordance to your life, bearing fruit may look like an expansion of your ministry, an increase in income, obtaining a degree with high grades, tying the knot in marriage or even having a baby on the way… as Children of God, we are designed to thrive at every stage of our lives… no matter what is going on in the world around us. I challenge you today to allow God to completely shift your thinking in order to see divine tangible results in your life. Rom 12:2 (KJV) reads, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Allow God to renew and refresh you daily, and empower you to adapt and overcome in every area of your life, in order to live in ultimate fullness and maximum potential the supernaturally abundant life that God has for you.
