SCARED BY COVID, NIGERIANS SWITCH TO ORGANIC PRODUCE TO BOOST IMMUNE SYSTEMS
In the city of Abuja, organic produce is offered by a supermarket that ships directly from the farm to the consumer.
An increased demand for organically grown and sustainable foods has transpired since the coronavirus pandemic initially struck Nigeria.
For Daniel Odi, CEO of The Real Farms, the goal of the company is to provide healthy organic food at real value to its customers.
“The Real Farms supermarket is for people who are health conscious because what we eat determines our health,” said Odi.
Whether it’s hot salty snacks, fruit or vegetable smoothies, all products are composed of fresh locally produced produce.
“I can’t say that the business has been profitable so far, but there is an incubation period. Our plan is to succeed in providing healthy food for Nigerians, and in doing so we should be able to earn some money to take care of this place and also take care of our investment,” Odi added.
God bless you, my beloved brothers and sisters in Christ. Welcome back to my blog! I love and miss you all, and I am so happy that you are a part of all that this site is doing, on its course to spreading the Good News and preaching the gospel in every nation.
For this week, I’ve chosen to talk about the importance of physical health from a spiritual perspective, which is oftentimes not talked about enough in the church. Indeed, spiritual health is absolutely paramount, however, it becomes more difficult for an individual to carry out spiritual assignments when the body is not in optimal condition. The Bible says, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies” (1 Cor 6:19 NIV). When we treat our own bodies right, we honor the God who created them.
Indeed, the ongoing Covid pandemic has driven many to begin eating healthier than ever before. However, as children of the living God, we don’t live healthy driven by fear of pestilence and infirmity, we live a healthy lifestyle primarily to give honor to our Lord Jesus Christ, who intricately designed us. In Ps 139:14 (NIV), King David praises God, exclaiming, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made…” Our bodies are the master handiwork and divine workmanship of the Almighty God.
Imagine that God has called you to preach from nation to nation, back to back, yet the current state of your body is unable to perform the magnitude of such a task. As wonderful and glorious an assignment like this is, the practicality of it is that you must have healthy lungs and strong, able legs for all of the moving and preaching that you will be doing. God is spirit. We are equally spirit beings made in his image who possess a physical body. No matter how powerful your spiritual assignment is, the earthly vessel of your body must be up to the task.
So yes, God desires that we eat healthy and stay fit, not to solely seek the praise, attention, and admiration of others, as people of the world do, but in order to ultimately glorify the magnificent God that we serve. Much like a manufacturer rejoices when his product performs the way it was intended to, when we equally function at our very best, it makes our Maker proud. May this year, 2021, be a year where we as God’s very own prize possession make him most proud.
